The inaugural Father’s Day Run in 1966 began with the idea of bringing family’s together to celebrate exercise in Fresno. Back then, Coach Fries figured; if we could get fathers to run, the whole family would come in support, while also raising the awareness of running in Fresno. Almost a half a century later, and Coach Fries was right; FDR plays host to an average of 1000 attendees yearly. Coach Jesus Reyes keeps this tradition alive annually with the support of the Fresno City College Track and Field, Family, and Our Community.
